Broccolis are great, aren't they? Loaded with vitamins and minerals, and tasty guilt free bites with a sprinkle of salt and pepper. A few days ago, it took me more than a whole day before steaming some broccolis for 5 minutes.
They have too much space for bugs to live in, and I have a bunch of stories of broccoli worm infestation throughout my broccoli eating life. From seeing one worm in my broccoli when I was 13 years old, up to taking a bite from a worm loaded piece I got from a market in Barcelona... preparing some at home means haute legumes couture.


Three pieces of innocent looking fresh broccoli heads. 11 worms. I had to inspect as much corners as I can and had to leave them in the fridge over night with the stems soaked in water to have these sluggers evacuate my dinner.

I hate you for posting this, I'm gonna think about those filthy worms everytime broccoli is served.
